Introducing ROS

Robot Operating System (ROS) is open source robotics middleware used to A ROS distro is simply a version of ROS (Robot Operating System). A full list of ROS1 distros are available here ().

In the subsections of this Gitbook, we will be covering how to install either ROS1 Melodic Morenia or ROS2 Foxy Fitzroy on our SBC (Single Board Computer).

Introducing SBCs

The Omorobot R1mini supports two different configurations with two different SBCs: Raspberry Pi 4 and Jetson Nano. For ROS1 Melodic and ROS2 Foxy, there are subsections that will show how to install ROS on each of the computers.
